MIAMI, Fla. – Tolls will be collected electronically on the Rickenbacker and Venetian Causeways beginning Tuesday and cash will no longer be a payment option.
Both causeways are converting to SunPass for toll collection at a cost of $1.75 per trip. Drivers crossing either causeway without a SunPass transponder will be charged using Toll-By-Plate at a rate of $2.25 per trip, plus a monthly administrative fee.

Drivers with annual payment plans, including Key Biscayne and Venetian Causeway residents, will continue to pay the same rates. SunPass transponders must be linked to the causeway toll plan by Tuesday to avoid per-trip charges.
