CORAL GABLES, Fla. – No injuries were reported in an early morning kitchen fire that forced the evacuation of a condominium in Coral Gables.

The fire broke out about 5:30 a.m. Monday in a unit on the 10th floor at Biltmore II in the 600 block of Biltmore Way.

The fire was contained to one unit.

More than 200 tenants were forced from the building and remained outside throughout the morning while firefighters knocked out the flames.

"We just installed new smoke alarms last week," said one tenant as she sat outside in her pajamas. "I'm just glad that everyone got out alive."

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
