Homeless woman attacked on Hollywood Beach

63-year-old victim suffers severe eye injury

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. ā€“ A 63-year-old homeless woman is warning others to be careful after she was attacked in Hawksbill Park on Hollywood Beach.

Linda Lambert told Local 10 News reporter Roger Lohse that she's been living on and off the streets for nearly a decade. She said the man who approached her last Friday at the park along the Intracoastal seemed nice enough, and they chatted for a few minutes at one of the picnic benches.

She said he never posed a threat until she got up to leave.

"I went to get up and then he hauled off and grabbed the backpack, and then he punched me," said Lambert. "When I spun around facing the opposite direction, I looked and he was gone."

Lambert suffered a severe eye injury and a minor head injury in the attack.

Lambert described her attacker as a clean cut white man in his mid 30s.
