SUV overturns, traps driver after 4-vehicle crash

Woman taken to JMH in stable condition

MIAMI – A woman is recovering in the hospital after her Nissan SUV overturned on its side during a crash with a Miami minibus and two other cars.

The crash happened just before 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Northeast Second Avenue and 12th Street.

According to a City of Miami Fire Rescue spokesman, the woman was trapped in her SUV after it overturned and had to be extricated. She was then taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center in stable condition.

The bus, a Toyota sedan and a small SUV sustained minor front-end damage.

The bus driver, the bus' four passengers and the drivers of the other two vehicles were evaluated at the scene.

Northeast Second Avenue was closed temporarily as authorities investigated the crash, but traffic entering the highway was not affected.
