Actor Mickey Rourke's sister chases intruder from Miami Beach home

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Police are searching for a would-be burglar who broke into the Miami Beach home of actor Mickey Rourke's sister Saturday.

According to the police report, Patti Rourke, who is the sister of actor and retired boxer Mickey Rourke, was asleep in her bed at her home on Lakeview Drive when she heard her house alarm chime, indicating someone had just opened the sliding door.

Rourke told officers that she headed toward the sliding door when she saw a man walking out of her kitchen. According to the report, the man said "Oh my God" and ran out of the house.

"She's the apple of my life, and I wouldn't want anything to happen to her while I was away," husband Tim Fine told Local 10 News. "I feel if I was here, I'd have caught the guy."

Fine said he was away on business at the time.

"She said, 'Who are you?' instead of saying something else that I would have expected her to say," Fine said.

Rourke chased after the man and saw him get away in a sport utility vehicle that was parked in her neighbor's driveway. She said it could be a Range Rover.

Police said the culprit sped off and Rourke was unable to write down a license plate number.

Detectives found no signs of forced entry to the sliding metal door, but Rourke insisted that the door was locked.

Fine had a message for the man who got away.

"Just be hopeful the cops catch you," he said.

Anyone who recognizes the man from the surveillance video is asked to call Miami Beach police.
