Child gets fingers amputated while playing with fireworks

8-year-old taken to Broward Health Medical Center

LAUDERHILL, Fla. – An 8-year-old child was rushed to the hospital Friday evening after getting two or three fingers partially amputated while playing with fireworks in Lauderhill.

Lauderhill police said the child was transported as a trauma alert to Broward Health Medical Center.

It is unclear if the child was being supervised or why he was playing with fireworks.

Police are also still trying to determine how the accident unfolded.
