Water main break causes sinkhole in Leisure City

No damage to homes reported

LEISURE CITY, Fla. – A 4-inch water main break caused a small sinkhole in a Leisure City neighborhood Wednesday morning.

Sky 10 was over the scene at Southwest 145th Avenue and 293rd Terrace just before 8:30 a.m. as water was seen coming out of the ground, flooding the roadway.

Two homeowners told Local 10 News reporter Michael Seiden that their water service has not been affected by the break, and that only one of the streets in the neighborhood is flooded.

Miami-Dade County crews are expected to fix the water main by noon.

No damage was reported to any homes in the neighborhood.
