Man tries to kill wife of 28 years in Deerfield Beach, deputies say

BSO: John Talbot, 65, uses stun gun, plastic garbage bag to try to kill wife

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. – A man is being held in jail on no bond after attempting to kill his wife of 28 years inside their Deerfield Beach home, deputies said.

According to a Broward Sheriff's Office report, John Talbot, 65, used a plastic garbage bag and a stun gun to try to incapacitate and suffocate his wife, Nadette Talbot, on Saturday night.

Deputies said John Talbot went into their bedroom while his wife was sleeping and kneeled down beside her. They said he stunned her multiple times in the neck and face and pressed the bag over her face.

Somehow, Nadette Talbot was able to fight off her husband and get away.

John Talbot is charged with aggravated domestic battery causing bodily harm and premeditated attempted murder.

The motive for the alleged attack is unclear at this time.
