Aventura patient does not have Ebola, hospital says
Hospital officials: High alert patient did not meet criteria for Ebola testing
AVENTURA, Fla. – A South Florida hospital received its latest Ebola scare after a patient arrived at Aventura Hospital Tuesday showing possible signs of the deadly virus.
The hospital released a statement after examining the patient saying, "Aventura Hospital and Medical Center did receive a high alert patient today. We followed all appropriate protocols and procedures to treat for suspected Ebola. Our Emergency and Infectious Disease Physicians assessed the patient and together with the Miami-Dade County Health Department determined that the patient did not meet criteria for Ebola testing. We will continue our vigilance in treating all patients that come in for care."
At this time, no cases of Ebola have been confirmed in the state of Florida.
