FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Portions of A1A in Fort Lauderdale were shut down Wednesday morning after construction crews ruptured a gas line.
The section of A1A between Sunrise Boulevard and N.E. 18 Street was closed off for about an hour.

A utility crew working in the area struck the underground gas line.
The road was closed to all traffic except for emergency crews.
Gas service was also turned off to all properties in the area that surrounds the site.
