Potential Hollywood attacker behind bars on unrelated charges

Police: Shane Christopher Green, 24, believed to be involved in 4 attempted abductions

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A Hollywood man believed to be connected to a string of abduction attempts is behind bars, facing a slew of unrelated charges.

Shane Christopher Green, 24, was arrested Oct. 22 in Sunrise for possession of marijuana, petty theft and having several fake ID cards.

But Hollywood police think he may be connected to a string of disturbing attacks in their city. Police are investigating four similar incidents where the victims walked alone in the early morning hours and an assailant tried to grab them from behind.

According to a search warrant for Green's apartment, one of the victims, who is 16 years old, pointed out Green as part of a photo lineup.

Furthermore, Green has already been connected to nine indecent-exposure incidents in Sunrise spanning nearly a year. In some cases, he allegedly left his DNA on his victims.

Right now, police are stopping short of calling Green a suspect in the Hollywood abduction attempts, saying he's a person of interest.
