Woman in white Mercedes-Benz wanted in Pembroke Pines hit-and-run

Motorcyclist struck on Pines Boulevard near University Drive

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – Pembroke Pines police were looking for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday morning on Pines Boulevard.

Police said the woman was driving a white Mercedes-Benz when she struck a man driving a motorcycle eastbound near University Drive.

The woman abandoned the car at the parking lot of the Heron Pond apartment complex, police said.

Paramedics took the man to Memorial Regional Hospital, where he was expected to recover.

"It's (a driver's) duty and obligation to remain on scene, especially if there's injuries involved in the crash, because it's a crime to flee the scene and it's a higher a higher degree of crime if you flee the crash with injuries," Capt. Al Xiques said.

Police do not have a description of the driver.
