To celebrate, Peanut and Pumpkin, got signed up for a pre-Art Basel paint project Tuesday afternoon.

They also had a special party with monkey chow cake and gift-wrapped presents on Sunday.

For Peanut, every birthday is a milestone. The orangutan battled non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2012 and was nursed back to health with chemotherapy provided by the University of Miami.

Peanut and Pumpkin are very popular with park visitors. They are only the third set of orangutan twins to be born into human care.

The twins have distinct personalities to tell them apart. Peanut is outgoing and energetic, while Pumpkin is reserved and independent.
