GAINESVILLE, Fla. – University of Florida police are investigating after threats against the campus were posted on Twitter.
Police sent a message to students Tuesday night saying they were alerted by staff from the school's Athletic Association "that messages threatening campus safety were posted on social media via Twitter. The messages were received from 15 separate account holders from throughout the United States and all arrived at the same time."

The threat was not specific, police said, but indicated, "I'm gonna shoot up the college tomorrow."
Police said at least one other university has received a similar threat, which was ultimately determined to be a hoax.
The FBI was working with campus police to determine those responsible.
Anyone with information was asked to call police at 352-392-1111.
