CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – A South Florida congregation is trying to stay cool after someone stole the air-conditioning units from a church.
The pastor at Living Word Christian Center in Coral Springs was preparing to bring in temporary AC units Wednesday before the New Year's Eve service at 9 p.m.
The Rev. Oral Walters said someone climbed onto the roof and stole two AC units worth nearly $20,000.
"I find it appalling that someone would steal from the house of God," Walters told Local 10 News.
He is hoping whoever stole the units will come forward.
"There's obviously a market for these kind of things, and when that market dries up I suspect that these things will also stop, too," Walters said.
