CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – Coral Springs High School is without an athletic director and assistant athletic director while Broward County school police investigate possible criminal misconduct.

On Feb. 27, law enforcement sources told Local 10 News that Athletic Director Sherry Dianne Sanzari and her assistant, Susan Halliday, were escorted out by police.

The investigation centers on the possible theft of funds from the athletics department.

Students leaving school Tuesday were very disappointed.

Anthony Morales played on the football team.

"I heard they were embezzling and laundering money from the Athletics Department," said Morales. "I saw Ms. Halliday as a mother really, because she helped out a lot."

Broward County Public Schools issued a statement Tuesday saying Sanzari and Halliday "have been administratively reassigned" pending the outcome of an investigation by Coral Springs and school police.
