2 men rescued from boat submerged for 9 hours near Everglades Park


MIAMI – The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two men Tuesday whose boat was partially submerged for nine hours near the Everglades National Park.

The men were knee-deep in water aboard the sailboat that was about 10 miles west of Flamingo Marina.

The pair told officials they started taking on water about midnight. They believed they could handle the flooding but were unsuccessful.

The men were taken to Flamingo Marina with no injuries.
