Dog cut cheeseburgers, went to dry dog food

A dachshund that was once five times over its normal weight managed to drop 44 pounds, thanks to the help of a new owner and diet.

According to an Associated Press report, Dennis the dachshund went from a life of cheeseburgers and pizza to dry dog food and exercise. This after he was adopted from a relative by 26-year-old nursing student Brooke Burton.

The life changes now has Dennis at 12 pounds.

The dog went from only being able to walk a few steps to chasing squirrels in the backyard, the AP report said.
