MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A man found on the side of a street in Miami Beach has died of meningitis, police said.
According to authorities, the man was found lying outside an apartment building at 31st Street and Indian Creek Drive.

Residents of the building found the man, who was nearly naked, lying on a pillow outside and called 911.
Police said the man had sores all over his body and was unconscious.
The man was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center due to the severity of his condition.
Authorities said he died minutes after arriving at JMH.
At this time, the strain of meningitis that the man had is unclear.
His identity is also unknown at this time, but police described him as being about 25 years old.
Anyone with information about the man's identity is urged to call police.
