Driver of yellow Fiat believed to be involved in Pompano Beach motorcycle robbery

Motorcycle reported stolen Feb. 28 from Captiva Cove Apartments

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office is searching for the driver of a striped yellow Fiat who is believed to have been involved in the theft of a motorcycle at an apartment complex in Pompano Beach.

The theft happened at about 2 a.m. Feb. 28 at the Captiva Cove Apartments in the 1200 block of South Dixie Highway.

Surveillance video shows a Fiat going through the front gates. About 20 minutes later, a man on a stolen motorcycle is seen trying to leave the apartment complex, but the gate won't open.

The motorcyclist is seen dialing a cellphone, and moments later the Fiat drives up to the gate. The passenger in the Fiat is seen getting out of the car and speaking to the thief briefly. The Fiat and the motorcycle then both drive away.
