MIAMI – A man was arrested Thursday after police discovered that a home in the city of Miami was being used as a marijuana grow house.

Rolando Fernandez, 67, is facing multiple charges, including trafficking of marijuana, possession of marijuana and cocaine and possession with the intent to sell.

Miami police were called to the home at 302 NW 53rd Ave. in reference to possible narcotics activity.

When they arrived, officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the home.

Police said Fernandez allowed officers to search his home, at which point they confiscated a large number of marijuana plants, as well as other narcotics and a scale with suspected cocaine residue on it.

Police said Fernandez admitted that the drugs inside the home were his.
