A Chicago man in the process of being towed drove his vehicle right off the tow truck, and presumably, albeit perhaps temporarily, escaped impound fees.
According to NBC News Chicago, the escape was captured by Tony Marengo, who took video and uploaded it to his YouTube account. Marengo said he could hear the driver being towed yelling "Hey! Hey! Hey, buddy!" as he sat in his Jeep that was already atop the tow truck.
The driver then pushed the gas, bolting free of the tow truck and escaping.
Marengo told NBC News that the tow truck driver was then "just sitting there, I imagine calling a supervisor or something."
