HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A young boy is recovering after he was pulled from the water unresponsive at Castaway Island in T.Y. Park in Hollywood on Sunday.
A Hollywood Fire Rescue representative told Local 10 News that paramedics were able to regain a pulse on the boy, who is about 5 or 6 years old, before he arrived at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.
A witness at the park said the boy was found in a large swimming pool, in water about four feet deep.
"All of a sudden all the lifeguards started running over, and then we saw they pulled the child out of the water," said Cachet Daley. "He was blue; you could see the feet."
Lifeguards performed CPR on the child until fire rescue arrived.
Authorities said the boy was breathing and crying when he arrived at the hospital.
He has since been upgraded to stable condition.
