Crocs help cops catch alleged burglar

Shoes left tread marks used by police

Crocs might make for comfortable footwear, but they're not much for covering one's tracks.

Police in Alaska said that tread marks left by a pair of Crocs plastic shoes helped them find a burglary suspect, according to an Associated Press report.

The suspect, 22-year-old Roland Huntington Grace, apparently wore the shoes again during a police interview, according to court documents cited by The AP.

Earlier this restaurant, a business, a church and an art gallery reported thefts in the range of $5 to $1,000. Two of the items matching descriptions of jewelry taken from the art gallery were recovered from Grace by authorities, The AP story said.
