MIAMI – Two elementary schools and a middle school in Miami-Dade County were placed on lockdown Monday morning after reports of a shooting nearby.
Miami-Dade County Public Schools spokeswoman Daisy Gonzalez-Diego said the lockdown at Carver Elementary, Carver Middle and Tucker Elementary schools was lifted at 11:41 a.m.

According to police, someone opened fire near the boundary line separating Miami and Coral Gables. It appears the gunman was targeting the driver of a blue Nissan Altima.
The schools were placed on lockdown for a little more than an hour. No injuries were reported.
No other details were immediately released regarding the shooting.
