6 people injured in Alligator Alley crash

5 vehicles involved in crash at toll plaza

WESTON, Fla. – Six people were taken to nearby hospitals after a crash Monday in Weston, a Florida Highway Patrol spokesman said.

The accident happened about 10:30 a.m. at a toll plaza on the stretch of Interstate 75 also known as Alligator Alley.

Sgt. Mark Wysocky said five vehicles were involved in the crash in the westbound lanes of Alligator Alley near U.S. Highway 27.

Sky 10 was above the scene about 10:50 a.m. as three of the damaged cars were still at the entrance of a toll plaza.

Wysocky said two of the victims were taken to Broward Health Medical Center and four were taken to the Cleveland Clinic. All injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

The FHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
