PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – A would-be smuggler was arrested in New York last month after he was found hiding cocaine in his underwear, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said Monday.

Romario Lewis had just arrived at John F. Kennedy International Airport from Kingston, Jamaica, on April 16 when customs officers made the discovery.

Officers said they found two packages of cocaine hidden near his groin.

About a pound of cocaine, worth more than $19,000, was seized.

Lewis, a Jamaican citizen, was arrested on federal narcotics smuggling charges.
