2 people shot in Pembroke Park

Victim, suspect flown to Memorial Regional Hospital

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Two people were shot early Wednesday morning in Pembroke Park.

Broward Sheriff's Office deputies were called to the shooting on Hallandale Beach Boulevard near Southwest 44th Avenue shortly after 4 a.m.

When deputies arrived, they found two men who were shot.

A man told Local 10 News he was inside Willy's Full Liquor Bar playing pool with his brother when he heard the gunshots and saw a man covered in blood in the parking lot.

"Man, it sounded like a war out here," the man told Local 10's Ben Kennedy.

The second man was found in a neighborhood behind the shopping plaza.

According to detectives, the men had gotten into an argument at the bar shortly before the shooting. Deputies are calling one of the men injured a victim and the other a suspect.

Megan Moore said she was with one of the men who was shot.

"I didn't see nothing," Moore said. "I just heard shots. It sounded like fire crackers to me."

"Somebody approached him and then, I don't know, the dude that approached him had problems with somebody," Moore said. "And he was trying to stop that chaos."

Both men were flown to Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood.

The suspect has since been released from the hospital and is being questioned by detectives. Deputies said the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies said they are searching for a second suspect, who is believed to be the person who pulled the trigger on the victim.
