School ranks among worst 10 in Miami-Dade on drug use reports

HIALEAH, Fla. Hialeah Senior High School, 251 E 47th St., was among the Miami-Dade public schools with the most safety incidents reported to the Florida Department of Education during two consecutive school years.

During the 2012-2013 school year, the high school was among the top 10 schools in South Florida on reports of vandalism, trespassing, tobacco, theft, and drug possession.

During the 2013-2014 school year, it was among  the worst 10 schools on drug use reports in Miami-Dade County. Nine percent of the school reports were on drug use, 37 percent were on tobacco and 32 percent were on fights.

According to Miami-Dade County the school had 2,738 students enrolled as of February 13, 2015. It was a "B" grade school during the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 school years.
