PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – "Jaws" is returning to theaters this summer.
The motion picture that made beachgoers afraid to go into the water is returning in a limited release to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its initial release.

Fathom Events, Turner Classic Movies and Universal Pictures will screen "Jaws" at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on June 21 and June 24 in select theaters throughout the country.

Among the theaters where "Jaws" will be screened are the AMC Aventura 24, Cobb Miami Lakes 17, Cinemark Paradise 24 in Davie, Regal Cypress Creek Station Stadium 16 in Fort Lauderdale, Cinemark Palace 20 in Boca Raton and Regal Shadowood 16 in Boca Raton.
"Jaws" opened on June 20, 1975, and became the highest-grossing film of all time until "Star Wars" was released two years later. It spawned three sequels, bundles of marketing merchandise and a ride at Universal Studios Florida.

The film also helped launch the career of director Steven Spielberg, who went on to win Academy Awards for "Schindler's List" and "Saving Private Ryan."
