Family members say boy wearing harness when he fell

WESTON, Fla. – An 11-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after falling from a rock-climbing wall, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office Department of Fire Rescue.

It happened Friday during a birthday party at the YMCA on Saddle Club Road in Weston.

Fire Rescue officials said the boy fell three stories from the rock-climbing wall.

Family members of the boy told firefighters that he was wearing a harness.

The boy was taken to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood. Officials said he suffered several injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police are investigating what may have caused the accident.
