10-year-old boy shot while riding bicycle in Miami

Police say 3 assailants opened fire into crowd at basketball courts

MIAMI – A 10-year-old boy was taken to a hospital after being shot Wednesday night in Miami.

Miami police said the boy was shot in the leg while riding his bicycle to the basketball courts at 1415 NW 63rd St.

Investigators said three assailants walked up to the basketball courts and began shooting into the crowd.

The boy was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. He was listed in stable condition.

Detectives aren't sure who was the intended target. A motive for the shooting is also unknown.

Police are still searching for the shooters.
