DORAL, Fla. – A father from Miami-Dade County is facing child abuse charges after he beat his 10-year-old daughter with an extension cord, police said.
Jean Simin, 45, was arrested Tuesday on one count of aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm.

According to an arrest report, Simin discovered that his daughter had taken "inappropriate" photos of herself on a disconnected cellphone.
Police said Simin told his daughter to get on her knees so he could punish her. Police said Simin then beat the child all over her body with an extension cord.
The child suffered multiple lacerations on her back, arms, shoulder, hands and legs.
Police said Simin admitted to beating the victim and was taken into custody.
