RV fire closes northbound lanes of I-95 in Fort Lauderdale

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A recreational vehicle fire closed the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Fort Lauderdale for several hours Wednesday afternoon.

The RV was on fire on the side of I-95 near the Sunrise Boulevard exit.

Only one lane of traffic appeared to be open between Sunrise and Oakland Park boulevards while firefighters worked to douse the flames and clear the charred remnants.

It was not immediately known how the fire started or if anyone was hurt.

Traffic was backed up for miles because of the crash.
