Former Tires Plus assistant manager, co-worker accused of fraud
FDLE says Louis Dailey, Candice Padron stole petty cash
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A former Tires Plus assistant district manager and co-worker have been arrested on fraud charges.
Louis Dailey, 60, of Fort Lauderdale, and Candice Padron, 27, of Sunny Isles Beach, were arrested on charges of grand theft, organized fraud and communications fraud.
Dailey is accused of stealing more than $104,000 in petty cash from stores he managed since 2009.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said Dailey instructed employees to process hundreds of fraudulent petty cash transactions and claimed the fraudulent petty cash transactions were for email advertising at local Chamber of Commerce offices.
Investigators said Dailey began working with Padron in 2011, when the pair instructed store employees to process hundreds of the fraudulent petty cash transactions in the name of a bogus entity called Quantum Ad Tech.
Authorities said Dailey and Padron stole nearly $150,000 by claiming the fraudulent petty cash transactions were for email advertising costs at Quantum Ad Tech.
Dailey and Padron were booked in the main Broward County jail.
