Police: Thieves cut hole in wall to enter warehouse

MIAMI – About $30,000 worth of seafood was stolen from a warehouse in Miami overnight.

The break-in was reported Friday morning when the owners of Sea Land Distribution, Inc. arrived to work.

According to one of the owners, thousands of dollars' worth of mostly lobster and shrimp was taken from the warehouse.

The owner said the family business has been around for 30 years and Fridays are when they are supposed to distribute their inventory to restaurants.

The owner said the freezer that the thieves broke into will cost between $5,000 to $10,000 to repair.

A business next store also suffered a loss, as police said the thieves cut a hole into a wall of the building to get inside the warehouse.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
