Police said Ward punched his sister, Jaquinda Wright, twice in the head during an argument about the electric bill.

It happened about 7:30 p.m. Friday at a home in the 1100 block of Northwest 13th Court.

The argument turned physical and Ward punched Wright twice in the head, police said.

Wright collapsed and was taken to Broward Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said Ward fled after the incident.

Ward faces one count of murder without premeditation, but Sousa said there has been no decision on whether Ward faces additional charges because Wright was pregnant.

Local 10 News has learned Ward has faced traffic violations, drug charges and a battery charge in the past.
