3 arrested in armed carjacking in northwest Miami-Dade County

Police searching for 3 others believed to be involved in robbery, carjacking

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Police have arrested three of six people believed to have been involved in an armed carjacking in northwest Miami-Dade County last month.

Tevin Bryant, 25, Delquan Pigatt, 18, and a 14-year-old boy were arrested in a collaboration with the Miami-Dade Police Department's Robbery Intervention Detail and Real Time Crime Center

According to police, Moises Hernandez, 41, was leaving his home about 7:15 a.m. July 15 in the area of Northwest 35th Court and 95th Street when he was approached by two of six people who pulled up in a black SUV and a white SUV.

Police said the suspects pulled out guns and demanded Hernandez's belongings. They said Hernandez was struck by one of the firearms, causing lacerations to his face.

Police said the two robbers fled in Hernandez's car, followed by the people in the black and white SUVs.

According to detectives, police were able to locate the victim's vehicle later in the day in the area of Northwest 72nd Street and 14th Avenue.

A foot chase ensued, and RID detectives pursued three of the suspects as RTCC detectives tracked the pursuit on live surveillance video.

Police said detectives eventually located Bryant, Pigatt and the teen who they said were hiding in the area.

The suspects were taken into custody on armed robbery and carjacking charges.

Police are still searching for three other people believed to have been involved in the carjacking and robbery.
