Driver loses control; car hit utility pole, catches fire
POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – The Broward Sheriff's Office is investigating a car crash that left one man dead Monday night in Pompano Beach.
BSO spokeswoman Dani Moschella said the driver lost control, drove over a median, flipped, hit a utility pole and then was thrown out of the car before it caught fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash happened in the 4200 block of Wiles Road shortly after 9 p.m.
Moschella said speed may have been a factor in the crash.
