DANIA BEACH, Fla. – A man has been arrested in the fatal shooting of his 19-year-old girlfriend at their Dania Beach apartment Tuesday afternoon.

Broward Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Dani Moschella said Clifford Stewart III, 20, faces a charge of second-degree murder in the death of Tynecia Williams, 19.

Moschella said Stewart initially told deputies that an unidentified man shot Williams and drove off in a getaway car. However, he later changed his story, telling detectives that he and Williams were playing Russian roulette when she was shot, Moschella said.

Stewart eventually admitted that he and Williams were alone in the apartment when he accidentally shot her in the abdomen, Moschella said.

Williams was taken to Memorial Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Moschella said Stewart confessed to burying the gun in a wooded area behind their apartment building.
