Police said the bodies of Gutierrez, 32, and Perdomo, 82, were discovered Monday in the duplex they shared on East 23rd Street.

The women were discovered by Perdomo's daughter, who rushed to the home after her mother repeatedly failed to answer her phone calls.

Police haven't said how the women died.

Neighbors said they believed Leyva was jealous of Gutierrez, believing that she may have been in a relationship with another man.

Sgt. Carl Zogby said Leyva is homeless but known to frequent the east Hialeah industrial area and Miami's Allapattah neighborhood, where he regularly works at auto body repair shops. Zogby said Leyva has a reputation of manipulating shop owners into letting him stay with them while working for them.

Anyone with information as to Leyva's whereabouts is asked to call police or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
