FBI trying to determine if Miami, Kendall bank robberies related

Surveillance photos appear to show same man in both robberies

The FBI is trying to determine if the man who robbed a Citibank in Miami (left) is the same man who robbed a Wells Fargo branch in Kendall earlier the same day.

MIAMI – The FBI is investigating whether two bank robberies in Miami and Kendall are related.

Special Agent Michael Leverock said the robberies happened about an hour-and-a-half apart Monday.

The first robbery was reported about 11:30 a.m. at a Wells Fargo branch on Southwest 88th Street in Kendall, while the second robbery was reported about 1:05 p.m. at a Citibank branch on Biscayne Boulevard in Miami.

Surveillance photographs released by the FBI appear to show the same man in both robberies. The robber wore a blue hat with a white emblem on the front.

Nobody was injured in either robbery, and the FBI didn't say how much money, if any, was taken.
