POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Dozens of vehicles were broken into early Wednesday morning at a condominium complex in Pompano Beach, deputies said.
The break-ins were reported about 5:30 a.m. at the Waterford Point condominiums at 801 S. Federal Highway.
Deputies said about 70 cars were broken into.
Items were missing from some cars, while other vehicles had nothing taken, deputies said.
"My two vehicles, nothing was taken," Jeff Rodgers, who lives at the complex, said. "It was just rummaged through and (they took) the loose quarters and change. Other than that just a lot of broken windows."
Rodgers said it took a couple of hours for residents to realize that someone had targeted their cars.
"Doesn't make sense to me that nobody seemed to have seen the damage in two hours," Rodgers said.
Rodgers said the damage to his two cars will cost him about $1,400 to fix.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
