Bull escapes pasture in Southwest Ranches, found at feed store

LeBron Lebull missing for 7 days

SOUTHWEST RANCHES, Fla. – A bull that had been missing for a week in Southwest Ranches went on quite an adventure before he was finally found several miles away in Davie.

"Have you ever had a cow escape before?" Local 10 News reporter Todd Tongen asked the bull's owner.

"Not really," Tomas Escalera said.

Escalera keeps a dozen head of cattle, including a new French-bred Charolais bull nicknamed "LeBron Lebull." Much like LeBron James, the longhorn sure can leap.

The day after Escalera bought the bull, he said it jumped out of his pasture and disappeared for a week. Surprisingly, no one in Southwest Ranches reported seeing the 2,000 pound beast.

Escalera said the bull left tracks in his neighbor's pasture. He believes the bull went out of his gate, down Holatee Road, swam across a canal and then eventually jumped into another pasture.

LeBron finally fouled out and was found several miles away behind the Davie Feed store.

"It needed water or food. I don't know," Wilfredo Jimenez, a supervisor at Davie Feed, said.
