9-year-old boy injured in hit-and-run in Coral Gables

Boy taken to Miami Children's Hospital with broken bones

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A 9-year-old boy was injured Thursday night when a car struck him and kept driving.

Police said the boy was riding his bicycle with his father in the 1100 block of South Greenway Drive when the boy got off his bike to look at a sign.

A white Honda Civic with a dark hood struck the boy and continued driving west, Coral Gables police Officer Kelly Denham said.

The boy was taken to Miami Children's Hospital with broken bones. He is listed in stable condition.

Coral Gables police are asking anyone who may have any information on the hit-and-run to contact them at 305-442-1600.
