MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A man was taken to a hospital after he crashed his SUV into a tree Monday on County Line Road just west of U.S. Highway 441 in Miami Gardens.
Passing drivers were shocked as they saw the car sitting on its backside against the tree.
"The car was speeding along and he tried to stop, I guess, for the red light," a witness told Local 10 News. "He couldn't stop, so the car started flipping and ended up in the tree."
Police roped off the area surrounding the car as they investigated the crash. They said the driver miraculously survived.
"It's a miracle that he's alive," another witness said. "I don't understand how he survived that crash. It was really horrific out here."
Shortly after the crash, a crane came to remove the SUV and it was towed away.
Meanwhile, the driver was taken to a hospital and is expected to be OK.
