Woman turns herself in to police in armed Walgreens robbery

Marquashaw Seymour, 27, arrested on armed robbery charge

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A 27-year-old woman has turned herself in to police in the armed robbery of a Walgreens store in southwest Miami-Dade County.

Marquashaw Seymour was arrested Saturday on one count of armed robbery. She appeared in bond court on Monday, where a judge ordered that she be held in jail without bond.

The robbery was reported Sept. 4 at the store at 15255 SW 137th Ave.

Surveillance video from the store showed a woman, believed to be Seymour, walking up to an employee at the cash register as an unidentified man pretended to be purchasing items, police said.

According to detectives, Seymour pretended that she didn't know the so-called customer and told him to leave with the merchandise. They said she pointed a gun at the employee and told him to open the cash register.

The employee opened the register and handed Seymour more than $200, police said.

Police said Seymour left the store with the cash and some groceries.

Police are still searching for the man involved in the robbery.
