MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Two South Florida men are accused of robbing a Miami Beach consignment store last month and beating a store employee who tried to call 911.

Diamonte Butler, 22, and Tim Jones, 23, were arrested on charges of grand theft, false imprisonment, aggravated battery and armed robbery.

Miami Beach police said Butler and Jones were carrying guns when they entered the Consign of the Times store Sept. 27.

According to arrest reports, Butler punched the employee and pointed a gun at her, telling her, "Get out of my way. You're getting robbed."

Police said Butler continued to attack the employee, forcing her to the ground while Jones removed numerous handbags and purses worth about $1,000 from the store's shelves.

Another woman who feared for her life ran to the back of the store while Butler chased her around, pointing the gun at her, the report said.

The employee picked up the store's telephone to call 911, but Butler struck her in the back of the head with his gun and kicked her in the face, head and back, the report said.
