MIAMI – As of Friday night, Susan G. Komen Miami/Fort Lauderdale had raised $959,975. And with 5,400, the top "Race for the Cure" team was Cheryl Watson's 18 member "Breasties."
Watson's team and about 20,000 others plan to take over downtown Miami and areas of Brickell early Saturday morning, Oct. 17. They will meet at Bayside Marketplace, 401 Biscayne Blvd., where there will be tents and a main stage.

The procession to honor breast cancer survivors is at 7:30 a.m. The 5 kilometer race begins at 8:45 a.m. The walk and run begins 15 minutes later. And the celebration is at 10:15 a.m.
Registration on race day is $45 for Bib Chip system timing and $40 for regular participation. The "One Mile Fun Run" is $40. Children can also participate for $10 ages 2 to 7 and $20 for ages 8 to 17.
