Second arrest made in July killing of teenager in North Miami Beach

Alexander B. Jones, 16, charged with 1st-degree murder with firearm, attempted felony murder with firearm

NORTH MIAMI BEACH, Fla. ā€“ Police arrested a 16-year-old male Wednesday in connection with a July murder of a teenager.

Anthony Holley, 17, was found shot and killed in an alleyway near Northeast 176th Street and 16th Avenue on July 19 at 10:30 a.m.

After months of investigation, Alexander B. Jones, 16, was arrested Wednesday without incident during a traffic stop in Miami-Dade County. His was the second arrest in the murder.

Police announced on July 24 the arrest of Zeke De'Jwaun Powell, 18, in connection with Holley's killing.

According to the North Miami Beach Police Department, Jones and Powell are brothers who lived in the North Miami Beach and Hollywood areas.

Jones faces charges of first-degree murder with a firearm and attempted felony murder with a firearm.

Powell faces charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder with a deadly weapon and attempted felony murder with firearm. He remains in custody for the charges.
